SP-High Modulus to Exhibit at Seatec 2012

Dated: 26/01/2012

26 January 2012, Isle of Wight – SP-High Modulus, the marine business of Gurit, is to exhibit for the first time at the forthcoming Seatec exhibition from 8th-10th February 2012 in Carrara, Italy. Seatec is an international exhibition exclusively focused on technology, materials and design for boats, superyachts and ships.

SP-High Modulus’ stand will be located in Hall E, aisle 34, stand number 1098 and staff will be on hand to showcase a range of composite materials. Products to be exhibited at Seatec include PVCell™, a closed cell, cross-linked PVC foam that provides high strength to weight ratio for all composite applications. PVCell™ G-Foam is available in a wide range of densities, which include G60, G80, G100, G130 and G200, with all standard cut patterns, and finishes possible. PVCell™ G-Foam has secured industry certification from Germanischer Lloyd (GL) (G60-G100), Det Norske Veritas (DNV), American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), and Registro Italiano Navale (RINA).

Promoted alongside PVCell™ G-Foam will be SP-High Modulus’ extended core materials range, including G-PET, Balsaflex® and Corecell™ M-Foam. SP-High Modulus will also be showcasing its range of prepreg materials, including SPRINT® and the tooling paste T-Paste 70-2.

SP-High Modulus’ Italian distributor Resintex will be exhibiting at the event in Hall E, aisle 34, stand number 1095.

SP-High Modulus Italian Sales Manager, Ferdinando Ollino, who will be attending the show, commented "This is the first year SP-High Modulus will have its own stand at Seatec. With our distributors Resintex near to us, I am looking forward to discussing our extended core range with visitors and showing them how we can help them with their upcoming projects."

PRODUCT INFORMATION

Corecell™ M-Foam is SP-High Modulus’ premier structural marine foam core that offers a complete cost-effective package comprising high shear strength, low weight and high elongation, low resin uptake for infusion processes and high temperature stability for prepreg processes.

PVCell™ G-Foam
PVCell™ G-Foam is a closed cell, cross linked PVC foam. As a general purpose core material commonly used in composite sandwich structures, it provides a superior strength to weight ratio for all composite applications.

G-PET
G-PET is a recyclable structural foam is a highly adaptable, recyclable, thermoplastic foam with a good balance of mechanical properties, temperature resistance, density and cost for a wide range of applications and production processes.

Balsaflex®

With Gurit’s acquisition of Balseurop, SP-High Modulus is now able to complement its range of structural foam core materials with a complete Balsa wood offering.

T-Paste 70-2 has been designed for Marine customers looking for a fast and reliable way to manufacture patterns and direct moulds. T-Paste 70-2 is a low density tooling paste designed for the manufacture of patterns in the boatbuilding market. It has been formulated for ease of application and to give an excellent surface finish when CNC machined.

Prepreg Materials and SPRINT®
SP-High Modulus prepregs utilise the latest solvent-free, hot-melt technology and include SE 84 Nano which incorporates the latest nano technology. SPRINT® is a unique patented material and processing technology that allows high quality composite components, with high mechanical properties and very low void content, to be produced rapidly and economically.
